Project overview

This project proposes the development of scientific research at FBAUL and CIEBA, promoting a creative and contemporary approach that integrates the three cycles of studies - Bachelor's, Master's and PhD. Through collaboration between Portugal and Brazil, the convergence of contemporary artistic practices is explored, analyzing creative processes, operative methodologies and pedagogical approaches in both contexts.

With the involvement of artists, teachers, researchers and students, the project aims to create a multidisciplinary research space that articulates scientific and artistic production, promoting international collaborations. This space will host activities such as open classes, workshops, exhibitions, seminars, publications and technical visits, generating shared knowledge and new possibilities for joint research.

The initiative focuses particularly on painting, based on theoretical and practical foundations, and on deepening themes that question cultural identities and processes of teaching and artistic creation. It is also intended that the results will have a positive impact on the qualification of teaching and the expansion of the production of scientific and artistic knowledge.

In addition to consolidating existing partnerships with Brazilian universities, the project seeks to investigate differences and intersections in the ways in which contemporary art is created, produced and taught. The relationship between theory and practice is integrated, studying curricular content and research models that articulate teaching, creation and scientific production.

This international cooperation reinforces FBAUL's role as a center of excellence in teaching and artistic research, promoting internationalization and reflection on the identity and methodological dynamics of contemporary art.
